Vietnam bolsters cooperation with E.U. and Hungary

During the talk, Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son and E.U. High Representative Josep Borrell agreed to push up the bilateral cooperation between Vietnam and the E.U. on par with their potential and better meet the joint interests of both sides. Meanwhile, they consented to deepen the ASEAN – E.U. cooperation, and expand collaboration in various fields of energy, climate change adaptation, green transition, digital economy, and infrastructure. Border gates are sked to be strictly controlled to prevent monkeypox outbreak. Minister of Health Nguyen Thanh Long asked local healthcare facilities to coordinate with the Institutes of Hygiene and Epidemiology and Pasteur Institute to diagnose monkeypox cases and strengthen prevention and control measures of monkeypox. The World Health Organization (WHO) has confirmed a rise in monkeypox cases in several countries. The first case of monkeypox was reported in the UK on May 13. At least 92 monkeypox virus cases have been confirmed in countries, including the US, the UK, Germany, Spain, Portugal, France, Italy, Sweden and others. No deaths have been reported; about 28 cases in these countries are potential cases. One of the Monkeypox symptoms and signs is skin rash. Localities urged to step up vaccination against COVID-19

Some localities have recently proposed not receiving vaccines or transfer the allocated vaccines, leading to the fact that the COVID-19 vaccination target is likely to be missed, the ministry said, citing a report from the National Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology (NIHE). As of May 21, more than 219 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered nationwide. VN-Index climbs by nearly 36 points as cash flow returns

The market was dominated in green and purple, with about 800 stocks increasing thanks to significantly improved liquidity. Among these, securities and banking stocks rebounded strongly, such as STB with 4.6 percent, TCB with 3.55 percent, VPB with 5 percent, HDB with 4.27 percent, MBB with 4.47 percent, VCI with 6.12 percent, HCM with 5.26 percent, VCB with 1.9 percent, and BIDV with 3.5 percent, contributed greatly to the rising momentum of the benchmark. These groups of stocks rallied robustly, spreading the upward trend to the whole market. The stock group with the second-largest market capitalization - real estate and construction - also made strong breakthroughs. Transport Ministry announces projects with slow disbursement

The projects invested by the ministry include the transport project connecting mountainous Northern provinces, the Tan Van - Nhon Trach section of Ho Chi Minh City's Ring Road No. 3 project, the construction of Dien Chau-Bai Vot section of the North-South expressway, My Thuan – Can Tho Expressway, construction of the Interconnecting Road to National. Highway No 91 and Long Xuyen City bypass, the subproject on upgrading and renovating National Highway 279B, construction of the National Roads of 21B and 15, and the project to upgrade the runways at Tan Son Nhat International Airport.
