According to the ministry's report, the four female patients aged between 10-72 returned from the US and transited in Hong Kong and South Korea before landing at Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City on January 17. They were all sent to a local quarantine area upon arrival and tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 on January 19. The patients are now being treated at the Cu Chi Field Hospital for Covid-19 patients. With these new infection cases, the number of imported Covid-19 patients in Vietnam has increased to 850. As of 6 pm on January 20, a total of 1,406 Covid-19 patients had recovered and been discharged from hospital. There have been 35 deaths, most of them being the elderly with serious underlying diseases.
