The brand new aircraft model Airbus A321NEO ACF (also known as Airbus Cabin Flex) with number VN-A222 departing from Hamburg, Germany, landed at Noi Bai International Airport, Hanoi, at 6 a.m. on February 7, officially joining Bamboo Airways’s fleet. Airbus A321NEO ACF is the first narrow-body aircraft to join Bamboo Airways’s fleet in 2021, following the Embraer modern jet that did so in January 2021. With the addition of A321NEO ACF aircraft, Bamboo Airways will be operating A320/A321NEO fleet of 10 aircraft, together with wide-body Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft and regional jet Embraer 190, 195. The airline plans to expand its fleet to 100 aircraft by 2025, including at least 30 A321NEO aircraft under the purchase agreement signed with Airbus. After landing at Noi Bai, Bamboo Airways A321NEO ACF was disinfected in accordance with standard regulations and instructions from the government. The entire aircraft was sprayed and sanitized thoroughly in 30 minutes, with special focus on items and areas which are commonly touched by passengers such as dining tables, handrails, entertainment screens, etc. "Safety of pandemic prevention is always the ultimate goal of Bamboo Airways in all operating processes. Bamboo Airways overtakes Vietnam Airlines in cross-country flight count during country’s busiest travel week

Reports of Bamboo Airways, a three-year-old aviation firm, operating more flights between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City than veteran air carrier Vietnam Airlines during Vietnam’s busiest travel week have shocked travel experts from across the country. According to flight data, Vietnam Airlines made just 113 trips between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City during the one-week span from February 8 to 14, which coincided with the 2021 Lunar New Year holiday. Comparatively, Bamboo Airways made 130 trips on the same route. Flights between Vietnam’s two largest cities are considered critical to airline success given consistent demand and high profits. Still, more flights do not necessarily mean more success. More data related to how many seats were sold aboard each flight and how each carrier fared on its other routes is needed in order to truly judge who came out on top during the holiday season. What the numbers do show, however, is the intensifying competition between Vietnam’s homegrown airlines, particularly as COVID-19 continues to keep thousands of passengers grounded. According to a report on Vietnam’s aviation industry released in January, domestic airlines collectively operated 19,295 flights, with Vietnam Airlines and Vietjet each accounting for 6,000-7,000 departures, or twice as many as Bamboo Airways’. Meanwhile, three-year-old Bamboo Airways seems to be gradually winning passengers’ hearts thanks to its high service quality. As international operations remain in hibernation, the country’s six carriers – Vietnam Airlines, Vietjet, Bamboo Airways, Pacific Airlines, Vietravel Airlines, and VASCO – are each scrambling for ways to convince travelers that they offer the best product, including setting prices as low as VND85,460 ($3.7) for the Hanoi – Ho Chi Minh City route. Customers’ gain Similar to Vietjet’s recent success, the surge of customers flocking to Bamboo Airways reflects the significant role played by private airlines in Vietnam in an …

Bamboo Airways reported a pre-tax profit of VND400 billion in 2020 Being among the few airlines with continuous expansion in fleet size, the number of flights operated, and number of passengers serviced during the catastrophic 2020 were all achievements that paid off financially, marking Bamboo Airways as one of the few profitable airlines in the world. By seizing the opportunities arising from the government's drastic and effective pandemic prevention policy, Bamboo Airways has proactively innovated and timely implemented a series of solutions to overcome difficulties. In terms of finance, the airline actively mobilised capital to reinforce its capacity, including raising capital from major shareholders, including its parent company, FLC Group; negotiated with bank partners and financial institutions to raise capital and adjust financial terms accordingly. With its network of service providers, Bamboo Airways actively worked and negotiated to come to acceptable cost agreements to secure the financial health of the airline. Regarding the flight network, the airline timely restructured and continued to consolidate its flight network concentrating on the domestic market, opening routes to potential destinations, especially niches and routes connecting with the FLC ecosystem. Some eminent direct flights of the Airlines’ strategy in 2020 include the roadmap connecting Con Dao, Rach Gia-Kien Giang, Phu Yen, and Can Tho, among others. These new routes of Bamboo Airways received positive reviews from passengers, contributing to accelerating the process of occupying approximately 20 per cent of the airline's market share, nearly doubling that of last year.
