The lion’s share of the financial comes from 841 million USD at Samsung Electronics HCMC CE Complex Co., Ltd. The new funding increases the total investment in the factory to over 2.84 billion USD. The other two projects are Hoa Binh innovation centre and a Vietnamese pharmaceuticals factory, which saw their capital rising by 130 billion VND (5.59 million USD) and 30 billion VND, respectively. A Saigon Zoo member of staff and a group of students are transforming elephant dung into paper. For the past six months, the five elephants at the Saigon Zoo have not only served visitors but also helped produce paper through an environmentally-friendly project. Making papers out of elephant dung has been done in many countries. However, it is a new idea in Vietnam. Mai Khac Trung Truc at the Saigon Zoo said that he joined the project with some students from the Poo Poo Papers group. "I think it is a nice idea which will help raise people's awareness about forest protection," Truc said. According to Truc, the five elephants at Saigon Zoo produce 500 kilos of droppings every day but they are only using five kilos for the pilot phase of the project. The dung is gathered and washed so that only the plant fibres remain. The fibres are then dried under the sun. Hai Phong attracts more foreign direct investment in H1

(Photo: VNA) Hanoi (VNA) – The northern city of Hai Phong has attracted 755.75 million USD in foreign direct investment (FDI) to local industrial parks (IPs) and economic zones (EZs) in the first half of 2022, raising total FDI there to 22.07 billion USD. According to the Hai Phong EZ Authority, the amount was channelled into 21 new FDI projects and 18 existing ones. It is equivalent to 56.2% of the FDI registered in the same period last year. At present, IPs and EZs in the city are home to 438 FDI projects worth 22.07 billion USD in total and 195 domestic investment projects worth 12.57 billion USD.
