It’s not as if the language had a few ups and downs here and there as does every tongue, but conveying even the simplest sentiments can be precarious. How about the infamous ‘em yêu anh, anh yêu em, em thương anh’ and ‘anh thương em” jigsaw puzzle? It’s damn good that most people know ‘I love you’ in English, for sorting the ‘em’s’ from the ‘anh’s’ and the north from the south is quite a hurdle. The new infections brought the country’s total caseload to 10,748,127 since the pandemic broke out. As many as 9,694 patients were declared to be free from coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 on the day, raising the total number of recoveries to 9,699,357. Meanwhile, the death toll related to the disease was kept at 43,047, accounting for 0.4% of the total infections.
