Currently, the coach station is serving routes from Quang Tri Province to the Northern localities with a distance of over 1,000 kilometers facing high competition with airplanes. According to the Municipal Department of Transport, the connectivity infrastructure is the core motivation to serve passengers at the station. A torrential rain accompanied by hail lashed Ho Chi Minh City on Wednesday afternoon, resulting in serious flooding and congestion on myriad streets. The heavy downpour was the result of the southwest monsoon, which has been picking up strength, according to Le Dinh Quyet, an official from the southern hydro-meteorological station. Ho Chi Minh City Urban Railways No. 1 Company Limited (HURC 1) is at risk of suspending operations due to not having received funding since August last year. In its recent report to the Government Office, HURC 1, which was established seven years ago to receive, manage, operate, and maintain the city’s Metro Line No. 1, said it has been unable to pay its staff since February of this year. The lack of funding has also prevented HURC 1 from paying social insurance premiums for its employees since July. Established in 2015 as a state-owned enterprise under the management of the Ho Chi Minh City administration, HURC 1 was granted a charter capital of VND14 billion (US$601,000). HURC 1 has earned no revenue during its lifetime as Metro Line No. 1 has yet to be completed, forcing the company to maintain operations by using advances from its charter capital. Famous painter’s works on display for first time

(Photo: VNA) Hanoi (VNA) – Sixty works by late famous painter Bui Xuan Phai, many of which were created toward the end of his life, are on display in Ho Chi Minh City. The oil and gouache works are showcased at the exhibition “ Remember Painter Bui Xuan Phai ,” according to Tran Hau Tuan, a collector and the organiser of the event which is scheduled to run to July 4. Around 90% of the works are shown for the first time ever, Tuan said, adding he intended to open the exhibition in 2020 to coincide with Phai’s 100th birth anniversary but it was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Tuan has been collecting the works of many famous artists since the 1980s and has great passion for Phai’s. The 39-year-old is the head of the safety inspection team of Hải Phòng City's rail transport, and she goes home happy knowing her passengers have had a safe trip.
