Crash of men’s rhetoric
They both need new vessels for their old wine. It doesn't happen every day that the rhetoric has been intentionally and publicly used by leaders of nations in the world to attack each other and to counterattack each other like US President Joe Biden and Russia's President Vladimir Putin just some days ago. Coach Troussier needs more time with Vietnam: football pundit
In the first two games played by the Vietnam U23 team in the Doha Cup, Vietnam lost 0-3 to Iraq and 0-4 to UAE. Darby believes that these two games did not say anything about Vietnam, because the opponents were much stronger. "First we need to look at the opponent and their quality," Darby said. "If Vietnam played against Laos or Singapore and won easily, would we say that they are a good team?" The U23 teams of Iraq and UAE competed in the Olympics before while Vietnam have not. Foreign tourist arrivals in Vietnam skyrocket in Q1
The first quarter figures were around 60% of pre-pandemic levels and one-third of this year's 8-million target, according to a report released by the General Statistics Office (GSO) on Wednesday. The number is less than half of Thailand's 6.15 million arrivals. Arrivals from Asian countries to Vietnam surged 33 times year-on-year to 1.93 million, accounting for over half of total foreign arrivals in the first three months of this year, according to the GSO report. Tourists from Europe increased by 23 times to 385,000. Following repeated calls from industry insiders to relax immigration policies, the government announced it will ask the National Assembly, Vietnam's highest legislative body, to resume the three-month visa policy for foreigners entering Vietnam. The National Assembly's next meeting is in May. At present, the country only offers a one-month, single-entry e-visa to visitors from 80 countries. Despite being one of the first Southeast Asian countries to fully … [Read more...] about Foreign tourist arrivals in Vietnam skyrocket in Q1
WHO to consider adding obesity drugs to ‘essential’ medicines list
Drugs that combat obesity could for the first time be included on the World Health Organization's "essential medicines list," used to guide government purchasing decisions in low- and middle-income countries, the U.N. agency told Reuters. A panel of advisers to the WHO will review new requests for drugs to be included next month, with an updated essential medicines list due in September. The request to consider obesity drugs was submitted by three doctors and a researcher in the United States. It covers the active ingredient liraglutide in Novo Nordisk's obesity drug Saxenda, which will come off patent soon, allowing for cheaper generic versions. The panel could reject the request or wait for more evidence. A decision by the WHO to include Saxenda and eventual generics on the list would mark a new approach to global obesity by the health agency. It could also pave the way for a newer, more powerful treatment from Novo Nordisk called Wegovy to be recommended for low- and … [Read more...] about WHO to consider adding obesity drugs to ‘essential’ medicines list
