Hanoi (VNA) – The Foreign Ministry held an annual meeting with the press at the Government Guesthouse in Hanoi on January 19, praising press agencies and reporters nationwide for their contributions to achievements made by the diplomatic sector in the past year. Speaking at the event, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh said the sector scored important achievements amid difficulties caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. He said Vietnam successfully accomplished the roles as ASEAN 2020 Chair, Chair of the 41st General Assembly of the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA-41) and a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) for the 2020-2021 tenure. Vietnam primed for credit rating agency to boost bond market
According to draft regulations on the implementation of the new Law on Securities, issuers of public bonds, whose total bonds outstanding as of the registration of public bond issuance is greater than 100 percent of equity and whose total bond issuance value in the last 12 months is greater than 50 percent of equity, must perform a credit rating. MoIT working to ensure supply of goods during Tet holiday
Hanoi (VNA) - The Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT) recently issued Directive No.15 on the implementation of measures to ensure essential consumer goods are available during the upcoming Lunar New Year (Tet) holiday and to stabilise the market. The Departments of Industry and Trade nationwide have been ordered to outline production and business plans while making evaluations on the supply and demand of essential items, so as to make a timely response to prevent a shortage of goods or price hikes during Tet. They should recommend the provincial People’s Committees set up plans to stock shelves for the holiday or in case of epidemic, as well as join hands with branches of the State Bank of Vietnam to help businesses access preferential loans to produce essential goods for the holiday. ASEAN senior officials discuss preparations for AMM Retreat
Hanoi (VNA) – Senior officials of ASEAN member countries met online on January 19 to discuss preparations for the upcoming ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Retreat (AMMR) that is slated for January 21. Vietnam pledges to support Brunei’s ASEAN Chair
Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam will support and work closely with Brunei as Chair of ASEAN in 2021 so as to successfully realise set targets and initiatives, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh said when talking on the phone with Brunei Minister of Foreign Affairs II Dato Erywan Pehin Yusof on January 19.
