The Ministry of Health also announced that 9,365 COVID-19 patients were given the all-clear, bringing the number of recoveries to 9,431,450. Hà Nội still had the most daily infections with 297. This is the first time in six months the capital city has recorded less than 300 new cases in one day. (Photo: VNA) Hanoi (VNA) – The State Bank of Vietnam set the daily reference exchange rate for the US dollar at 23,109 VND/USD on May 27, up 4 VND from the previous day. With the current trading band of /-3 percent, the ceiling rate applicable to commercial banks during the day is 23,802 VND/USD and the floor rate 22,415 VND/USD. The opening-hour rates at commercial banks stayed stable. At 8:30 am, Vietcombank listed the buying rate at 23,030 VND/USD, and the selling rate at 23,340 VND/USD, unchanged from the rates at the end of May 26. BIDV also kept both rates unchanged at 23,070 VND/USD (buying) and 23,350 VND/USD (selling). VN-Index rallies for a forth day on strong growth of blue chips

On the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange, the VN-Index gained 1.33 per cent to close Friday at 1,285.45 points. The southern bourse’s index has expanded 5.4 per cent this week. Information relating to the restructuring of the exchange-traded funds (ETFs) boosted trading in large caps. Twenty-nine out of the top 30 largest shares by market value and liquidity (VN30) gained value while only Sacombank (STB) fell 0.7 per cent. On Friday, the stocks in which the foreign ownership nearly touch the ceiling limit attracted investment.
