‘Big Brother’ could improve behavior in Vietnam
I was thinking about the time when Japanese fans of the 2022 World Cup cleaned up the field after every game. By contrast, it is not difficult to encounter bad behaviors from certain Vietnamese people these days. These include spitting, littering, pushing and shoving, trespassing, breaking traffic laws, allowing pets to defecate in public, smoking and even swearing and fighting in public. England to ban some single-use plastic items from October
The decision follows a public consultation by the government in which 95% of respondents were in favor of the bans, the department said in a statement. "We all know the absolutely devastating impacts that plastic can have on our environment and wildlife," Environment Secretary Thérèse Coffey said. "These new single-use plastics bans will continue our vital work to protect the environment." Most plastics can remain intact for centuries and damage oceans, rivers and land where millions of tonnes end up as waste each year. The United Nations says decades of overuse of single-use plastics has caused a "global environmental catastrophe." The government said it is estimated England uses 2.7 billion items of single-use cutlery, most of which are plastic, a year as well as 721 million such plates, but only 10% end up being recycled. England's ban will also include single-use plastic trays, balloon sticks and some types of polystyrene cups and food containers. A ban on supplying … [Read more...] about England to ban some single-use plastic items from October

Interest and exchange rates were regulated in line with market developments, and liquidity and credit growth mediated. These moves helped remove bottlenecks in capital flow, he noted. However, he said that the economy faced many difficulties last year, especially in the last months, mostly due to complicated fluctuations in the world. The minister said that in 2023, the global economy will continue to experience complications, and inflation is forecast to create headwinds.
