The exercise involved Indonesian Navy corvette KRI Sultan Iskandar Muda and EU NAVFOR Somalia – Operation Atalanta frigate ITS Virginio Fasan. It was based on the scenario of an anti-piracy operation, including cross-deck helicopter landings, complex tactical evolutions at sea, boarding of suspicious vessels and fuel replenishment at sea. The EU project on Critical Maritime Routes in the Indo-Pacific (CRIMARIO) provided its Indo-Pacific Regional Information Sharing (IORIS) platform for communication between participants in the exercise. The EU and Indonesia have conducted a regular Security Policy Dialogue to strengthen cooperation on security issues. In early April, the Banking Supervision Agency, under the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) conducted an inspection of corporate bond investment activities at seven banks, while the Ministry of Finance inspected one bank. According to the SBV, by the end of 2021, there are 41 credit institutions holding VND274 trillion (US$11.7 billion) of corporate bonds, of which more than 75 per cent of them are held by ten major banks - Techcombank, MBBank, VPBank, TPBank, BIDV, Vietcombank, VietinBank, HDBank, ABBank and SeABank. At some banks, the value of corporate bonds exceeds 10 per cent of total assets. Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Tan Cuong, Deputy Defense Minister and Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, presented a Government proposal saying the bill is set to create a framework for the prevention and response to disasters and incidents, while protecting people’s assets and health. It also aims to deal with loopholes in the legal system, ensuring civil defense, he added. With seven chapters and 75 articles, the document focuses on six policies regarding the evaluation of disaster and incident risks in civil defense, assignment in State management and decentralization in the organization of prevention and response activities, civilian protection measures, the organizational revamp of National Civil Defense Steering Committee, big data application, and emergencies in civil defense.
