The design of the Belt Road No. 3 (Photo: nld.com.vn) HCM City (VNA) – Ho Chi Minh City has handed over more than 81% of the land needed for the section crossing the city of Belt Road No.3 project, enabling its construction to be launched on June 18 in Long Binh ward of Thu Duc city , according to HCM City’s Management Board of Traffic Works Construction and Investment. The board reported that so far, localities across the city have provided the investor with about 335 hectares out of the total 410 hectares of land for the project in the city. Director of the board Luong Minh Phuc said that along with ground clearance, the selection of contractors and consultant agencies is also making progress. The project is expected to open to traffic in late 2025 and fully complete in 2026, he said. On the morning of November 30 last year, Minh, now 29, received an email from his employers at DoorDash, the largest online food delivery company in the U.S. The company announced that it was letting him go. Just a day earlier, Minh was still the leader of one of the company’s finance management team. When he received the email, Minh had already studied and worked in the finance field in the U.S. for over a decade. Work on 4 southern Vietnam expys could start simultaneously in mid-June
The Ministry of Transport is seeking the prime minister’s nod to concurrently break ground on four expressway projects in southern Vietnam, namely Beltway No. 3 in Ho Chi Minh City, Khanh Hoa-Buon Ma Thuot, Bien Hoa-Vung Tau, and Chau Doc-Can Tho-Soc Trang, on June 18. The ministry said in a report sent to the prime minister that the localities in charge of the development of these road projects had suggested different dates, ranging from June 17 to 30, and different locations to break ground on them. To ensure the groundbreaking ceremonies take place in a formal and cost-efficient manner, the ministry proposed that they should be held on June 18 in a hybrid format in four locations. Companies in northern Vietnam voice outcry over power cut
Several enterprises in the northern region of Vietnam have decried repeated power outages after a region-wide electricity cut paralyzed their production activities. A representative of state utility Vietnam Electricity (EVN) said that power would be cut in the region by up to 30 percent. According to a representative of an apparel firm active in Viet Hung Industrial Park in Ha Long City under Quang Ninh Province, the firm’s production was in a turmoil due to unstable power supply.
