Petrol prices have fallen four times since June 21 and by a total of 22 per cent, bringing cheer to the public and businesses again by reversing a long period of rise. Fuel prices have decreased to January levels, with E5 petrol now costing VND24,629 per litre, RON95 costing VND25,608 and diesel costing below VND25,000 per litre. HCM City is reporting a rise in the number of children hospitalised for Covid-19 treatment while the local health department is urging better vaccination coverage to prepare for the new school year. The number of students from kindergarten to high school in HCM City will increase by 22,000 in the upcoming 2022-23 academic year, according to the city’s Department of Education and Training. The renovation of Ho Chi Minh City’s iconic Notre Dame Basilica, which began in mid-2017, will be extended until 2027 due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.
