Hundreds of police officers blockaded part of Nguyen Trai Street in District 1 from both ends before raiding the SunFlower Restaurant, a highly popular night hangout in the downtown area. The restaurant's security guards were prevented from turning on the alarm system as police raided the VIP rooms on the second floor. Many people tried to escape but were detained. Around 70 suspected drug users and waitresses were taken to the police station for drug tests. Some of the detainees reportedly screamed and resisted the police officers. At the same time, a group of officers raided a hotel on Le Lai Street, a 15-minute drive from Ben Thanh Market and caught a restaurant waitress offering sex services to her customer. Police said all the waitresses at the restaurant had negotiated prices to have sex with drunk customers. After his rescue the sun bear received the medical treatments he needed and is fully recovered now, says Animals Asia, an organization that advocates against cruelty to animals. Police across the country stored nearly 137,000 unclaimed vehicles, including 722 cars, between 2013 and September 2019 (Photo: baogiaothong.vn) Hanoi (VNS/VNA) - Vehicles seized for traffic violations should be auctioned if the owners fail to come forward within 30 days instead of the current one year, the Ministry of Public Security said at a recent meeting organised by the National Assembly’s Legal Affairs Committee in Hanoi.  The move would free up warehouse space and avoid waste, participants heard. Deputy Minister Nguyen Duy Ngoc said police across the country stored nearly 137,000 unclaimed vehicles, including 722 cars, between 2013 and September 2019.  Due to the long time in storage, 37,000 vehicles were damaged, he said.
