Campaign launched to light up Hanoi with competition

(Photo: VNA) Hanoi (VNA) - A campaign seeking ideas for Hanoi's street decoration and lighting for this year has been launched by the municipal Department of Culture and Sports. According to the organisers, the campaign aims to create a joyful and exciting atmosphere for citizens on national holidays and major anniversaries of the nation, in addition to aiding the political and decorative tasks of the city. It is also set to contribute to preserving and promoting the national cultural identity and typical values of Hanoi as a thousand-year-old capital, creative city and city for peace, as well as meet the increasing demands of cultural enjoyment of citizens. Themed 'Hanoi - Creative City ' and 'Hanoi Congratulates the Party and Celebrates a New Spring', designs must be of high aesthetic, suitable to surrounding landscape, lightning systems and architecture. They are also expected to contain elements of creativity and follow modern decoration trends. Entries with the use of new technologies, appropriate materials, elegant colours and safety insurance will be prioritised. The winning designs will be used for decoration of major streets in Hanoi’s downtown such as Trang Tien, Trang Thi, Ba Trieu, Hai Ba Trung, Ly Thuong Kiet and Tran Hung Dao, among others, at the celebration of the new year of 2022. The contest is open for contestants of any nationality who can submit unlimited designing plans for various places, provided that they comply with copyright protection law. The works qualified for the competition must be those which have not been submitted to other contests or introduced to the public in any form. One special prize, one first prize, two-second prizes, third prizes and five consolation prizes will be given to the best entries. Hanoi students to return to school next Tuesday amid tight medical control

The Hanoitimes - Relevant agencies have been asked to exert efforts in ensuring safety for students when they resume going to schools, and enforce strict measures to prevent the spread of Covid-19. Hanoi students are set to come back to school on March 2 after one-month break and online classes to prevent the Covid-19 pandemic, according to a dispatch issued by the municipal People’s Committee on February 27. The date applies for students from kindergarten to high school levels, while colleges and centers for vocational training and continuing education will reopen a week later. Relevant agencies have been asked to exert efforts in ensuring safety for students when they resume going to schools, and enforce strict measures to prevent the spread of Covid-19. To ensure safety for students, this weekend, schools have disinfected their campuses and prepare materials for the epidemic prevention, in addition to having a clear approach to managing students. Schools have also regularly disinfected areas, especially those being constantly touched, and vehicles used to carry students. As on-site classes resume, parents need to take their children's body temperatures at home, prepare them masks and personal items so they would not have to share them with classmates to avoid infection, the municipal authority said. Hanoi students at all levels return to classes after 3-month break

The Hanoitimes - Schools in Hanoi city are requested to implement rules on Covid-19 prevention and respond promptly to any health incidents related to the pandemic. Preschool children and elementary students in Hanoi have returned to schools after a theee-month break due to the risk of Covid-19 infection, Kinhtedothi.vn reported. The schools have been disinfected many times and the teaching plans are adjusted to suit the pandemic evolution. Students in Hanoi's Ha Dong district are excited to resume classes. Photo: Van Trong Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training Pham Xuan Tien said that his department has issued detailed guidances to educational institutions in the city about Covid-19 prevention and control. Schools in the city are requested to implement the regulations on Covid-19 prevention and respond promptly to any health incidents related to the pandemic. Besides, training and operation plans have been changed. Today’s first lesson is about activities to provide knowledge and anti-Covid-19 skills for all students. All the pending teaching contents must be delivered before July 15. Hanoi schools have discussed online with parents to agree on the scenario of taking and picking up children on weekdays, as recommended by the Ministry of Health and the municipal authorities. Some schools have still recommended that parents should let their children wear face masks while in classes and prepare them personal amenities.
