Construction work starts on Haiphong – Quang Ninh bridge
Authorities in the northern city of Haiphong today, February 2, started construction of the Lai Xuan Bridge crossing the Da Bach River that connects the city's Thuy Nguyen District with Dong Trieu Town in Quang Ninh Province. Hundreds fall for post-Tet online scams
Dao Van Chieu, from the north-central province of Thanh Hoa, said that he received a call on Monday, his first day back in the city after a visit to his hometown for Tet . "They offered me a job listening to music and liking songs on an online music site for VND10,000 (43 cents) per song," Chieu said. Despite having previously read warnings about online tricksters, he still tried out the gig as a way to investigate and possibly warn other people of the scam. "They actually paid me VND10,000," Chieu said, "then they tempted me to send in money for high commission. The online group they established had attracted nearly 4,000 members." As soon as he joined the group, his phone began receiving a relentless flow of chat notifications. Every time someone completed a task, they would send a message to the group. A sudden gas cylinder explosion occurred on a ship which was being repaired in the northern province of Quang Ninh, injuring eight workers. The incident occurred at around 8:45 am this morning when the vessel Oriental Glory was being repaired at Nosco Shipyard. The ship belongs to the Hanoi-based Phuong Dong Shipping and Trading JS Company. The ship where the incident happened The gas cylinder explosion affected eight workers from Nosco ShipYard aged between 34 and 47. During a volleyball game broadcast on South Korea's KBSS Tuesday, South Korean volleyballer Lee Da-hyeon celebrated a point by dancing to the tune of "See Tinh." A video of the pair has garnered 37 million views on KBSSport’s TikTok account thanks to the comedic rapport between the two athletes. New bidding launched to find Long Thanh airport builder
The package up for bidding is worth VND35.23 trillion ($1.5 billion), and project investor Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) has announced that the goal is to find a contractor before May. ACV Deputy General Director Do Tat Binh said the package for the construction of the airport’s passenger terminal – including its design, build and installation of equipment – will be up for bidding until March 28. ACV will hold a pre-bid conference next week to survey the opinions of interested bidders. After receiving applications, ACV will select a contractor and negotiate the contract before April 30. Ministry of Transport urges stricter safety compliance on construction sites

The inspection of the implementation of approved measures must also be strengthened with timely supplements or adjustments when needed, it said. Construction contractors must be suspended if there are any signs of violations in traffic safety, occupation safety and health, it said.
