Helicopters fly ill foreign patients to Con Dao for treatment
According to Hoyer Transport Vietnam Co., Ltd., while en route from Kohsichang port (Thailand) to Lian Yun Gang port (China), Captain of Ship MV Wuzhou 8 (Chinese nationality) discovered that 18 out of 21 crew-members had signs of food poisoning and needed urgent medical care. The ship was about 110km southeast of Con Dao island district. Having receiving higher levels’ direction, VNH South promptly deployed forces, made all preparations, and sent helicopters EC-225 and Super Puma L2 carrying doctors and nurses to fly the foreign patients to Con Dao for treatment. All crew-members were determined to save the foreigners while ensuring absolute safety. Truck-bikes crash kills two, causes massive blackout in southern Vietnam
A crane truck crashed into two motorbikes and broke a power pole, killing two people and leaving more than 6,400 households without power in Dong Nai Province, southern Vietnam on Tuesday. The traffic accident occurred at around 10:40 am on the day when the crane truck suddenly lost control and slammed into two motorbikes on Ly Thuong Kiet Street in Nhon Trach District. The truck only stopped after bumping into a power pole on the sidewalk, knocking it down. The collision killed a motorcyclist at the site while another died en route to hospital. The truck and motorbikes were seriously damaged. The collapse of the power pole also resulted in a widespread outage affecting 6,450 households in three communes of Nhon Trach until 4:00 pm on the same day, according to Nhon Trach Power Corporation. 2 dead after car falls from bridge in Vietnam’s Central Highlands
Two people, including a four-year-old girl, died after a car plunged off a bridge in Bao Loc City, Lam Dong Province in Vietnam’s Central Highlands region on Thursday. The fatal traffic accident happened at a bypass of National Highway 20 at around 11:00 am. The vehicle involved in the incident was a Ford Everest with plate number 49A-063.64 driven by 54-year-old D.T.V., a resident of Di Linh District, and a four-year-old girl, who is only known as Nh. The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) has just approved to pilot the implementation of the Airport Collaborative Decision Making (A-CDM) model at the country's two biggest airports of Tan Son Nhat and Noi Bai. A data centre set up for the implementation of A-CDM According to CAAV, the implementation of A-CDM will help improve data and coordination between concerned agencies to provide clear, accurate and transparent information, which will help reduce delays and provide a better travel experience for travellers. Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) have co-operated with the two airports, local airlines, and a Dutch consultancy agency to set up the models at Noi Bai and Tan Son Nhat airports. 5 new untouched caves discovered in central Vietnam
A British Caving Association (BCA) expedition team has discovered five new caves untouched by humans in Quang Binh Province, central Vietnam. The government of Lam Hoa Commune in the province’s Tuyen Hoa District told Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper on Thursday that the BCA expedition team had discovered these five uncharted caves while exploring a limestone mountain region in the commune. With a total length of 3.34 kilometers, the five, namely Hung Tru 1, Hung Tru 2, Hung Tru 3, Hung Ka Vong 1, and Hung Ka Vong 2, are wet caves. Hung Tru 1 cave is 1,919 meters long, Hung Tru 2 cave is 502 meters long, Hung Tru 3 cave is 153 meters long, Hung Ka Vong 1 cave is 238 meters long, and Hung Ka Vong 2 cave is 537 meters long.
