Vietnam’s economy has performed well amid a difficult global environment in the first six months of the year. The Vietnamese Government would stay focused on stabilizing macro-economic conditions, containing inflation, and keeping all major balances intact. Overview of the meeting. According to Chinh, Vietnam’s economy has performed well amid a difficult global environment in the first six months of the year. Chinh highlighted the GDP growth of 7.72% in the second quarter, the highest second-quarter growth since 2011, and the six-month GDP growth of 6.42%. Scanning QR Traceable Code. — Photo baochinhphu.vn HCM City plans to issue a list of goods with traceability codes with a goal to have at least 50 per cent of businesses in multiple sectors, such as vegetables, livestock, food and medicine, be able to exchange data with the traceability code system in Viet Nam and the world. Nguyen Thi Kim Hue, deputy director of HCM City Department of Science and Technology, said that traceability is a matter that consumers have great concerns for besides a product’s standards and quality. By establishing traceability, businesses can better monitor the production and distribution of products. Optimistic exports In 2021, despite COVID-19, Vietnam's goods exports to CPTPP markets recorded encouraging achievements. Japan became the largest CPTPP importer of Vietnamese goods, accounting for more than 52 percent of Vietnam’s export value to the bloc. Meanwhile, exports to Chile and Peru increased 85 and 128 percent over the previous year. According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the CPTPP bloc has contributed 15 percent to the global gross domestic product (GDP) and trade. The zeroing of import duties by large markets, such as Japan and Canada, will help Vietnam increase its export value. Vietnam’s major exports, including farm produce and seafood, electricity and electronics, became tax-freed ones as soon as the CPTPP came into effect. The airline is set to receive its 22nd narrowbody Airbus A321 jet and fourth widebody Boeing B7s87 this quarter, CEO and chairman Dang Tat Thang told shareholders at the recent extraordinary shareholders’ meeting of its parent company FLC. The airline currently has 29 jets, comprising 21 narrowbody aircraft, three Boeing B787s and five Embraer 190 regional aircraft, according to aviation data website Planespotters. Its competitors Vietnam Airlines operates 99 aircraft, and Vietjet 77. Thang became the new chairman of Bamboo Airways and FLC in March to replace Trinh Van Quyet who was arrested for alleged stock manipulation. The airline saw revenues rising 150 percent between the first and second quarter this year as travel resumed, Thang said.
