A 19-year-old college student from the northeastern province of Cao Bang was crowned the new Miss World Vietnam 2019 after beating out 39 beauty contestants in the pageant finale on Saturday night, becoming the first Vietnamese woman to clinch such a title. Luong Thuy Linh, born in 2000 in Cao Bang, was declared Miss World Vietnam in the finale in the central city of Da Nang, a victory allowing her to represent Vietnam at the oldest-running global beauty contest Miss World in the UK this December. Two other young women, Nguyen Ha Kieu Loan and Nguyen Tuong San, claimed the first and second runner-up titles and will represent Vietnam in Miss Grand 2019 in Venezuela and Miss Intercontinental 2019 in India later this year, respectively. (Photo: VNA) Binh Dinh (VNA) – Miss World 2021 Karolina Bielawska will be present at the finale of Miss World Vietnam 2022, scheduled to take place in Quy Nhon city, the central province of Binh Dinh, on August 12 evening. At a press meeting in Binh Dinh on August 11, Pham Kim Dung, head of the beauty pageant’s organising board, said the Miss World 2021 will also join charitable activities in Quy Nhon. Karolina Bielawska said this is the first time she has set foot in Vietnam, and that she can feel the warm welcome for her from all people. On the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange, the VN-Index rose 0.82 per cent to close at 1,262.33 points. The VN-Index had lost 0.54 per cent in the last two days. More than 541.7 million shares worth VND13 trillion (US$555.7 million) were traded on the southern exchange. The market's breadth was positive with 273 stocks climbing, of which eight hit ceiling prices, while 166 declined. The VN30-Index, which tracks the 30 biggest stocks on HoSE, jumped 0.68 per cent, to 1,280.96 points.
