But they are wrong. A three-year-old boy in southern Vietnam's An Giang Province was playing with the family's German Shepherd on Monday when the dog bit him and gashed open the child's belly. He had to be rushed to hospital with severe injuries but is now stable. Earlier, an 82-year-old woman in Binh Duong Province, which borders HCMC, was bitten to death by the family’s pit bull . Pit bulls are born to fight, now matter how you train them
Reading recent heartbreaking stories of dog attacks in Vietnam – a pit bull biting its owner to death and a German shepherd biting its owner’s 3-year-old child – I feel stronger than ever that now matter how a person tries to train their dog, the dog’s breed is the most important factor in guaranteeing safety for people around it. Vietnam to issue circular on pit bull raising management
The Vietnamese Department of Livestock Production will garner feedback and opinions from officials and competent agencies on the management of dogs, such as pit bulls, to complete a draft circular on tight control over animals. Duong Tat Thang, head of the department under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, told Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper on Monday that the country had reported fatal pit bull attacks in Binh Duong Province, southern Vietnam, and Thanh Hoa Province in the north-central region, urging the department to take action. “The ban on and the tight management of raising dogs and cats should be taken into account as fatal attacks linked to pets have affected our society," Thang said. “The department is drafting a circular on managing other animals, including dogs and cats, as directed by the ministry." The circular will be based on prevailing laws, international rules, and science to make the management of aggressive dogs effective to minimize deaths, … [Read more...] about Vietnam to issue circular on pit bull raising management
