Military medical personnel provide free health check-up for Binh Phuoc people

Local people have their health checked. The activity was part of the “Returning to the Roots" tour to Tau O revolutionary base, which was jointly conducted by Army Corps 4, the Military Broadcasting Center, the People’s Committee of Hon Quan district, and other local units. Accordingly, the mission also visited and presented gifts, worth VND 1 million each, to 20 families with great contributions to the revolution, heroic Vietnamese mothers, patriarchs, and heads of villages. There were also 300 other gifts, worth VND 500,000 each, that were handed over to policy beneficiaries, needy locals, and ethnic minority people. The mission visits heroic Vietnamese mother Pham Thi Xy. Hon Quan district is known for the victory of troops of Division 7 in 1972 over the enemy at Tau O post. Hospitalization resulting from cold exposure

Children and parents were seen to fill the city Children Hospital No.1’s Treatment Ward yesterday. Dr. Pham Van Hoang who heads the Treatment Ward advised parents to keep their children warm in these days as well as have good diet to increase their children’s immune. Parents should take their children to nearest medical clinics when children experience cough, running nose and breathing failure Moderately cold weather also causes an increase in emergency hospital admissions of elderly people in these days. Dr. Truong Quang Anh Vu from Thong Nhat Hospital said that hospital admission rates increase in patients with respiratory problems, asthma and heart diseases. Vietnamese man visits 50 countries, and counting, on motorbike

A Vietnamese man from southern Vietnam is living his dream, or everyone’s dream: traveling the world by motorbike. On the 794th day of his journey, Tran Dang Dang Khoa reached Sydney - the two-third mark on his seven-continent motorbike journey. “Suddenly I opened my eyes and I saw Sydney, an important milestone which marks two-thirds of my world journey on ‘The Memo’ and over two years since my departure,” Khoa shared with his 237,500 Facebook followers on August 3. A picture capturing nature in a rural area in Australia taken by Khoa has received positive feedback from his Facebook followers. “The Memo” is the name of the motorbike he has used for the trip, which began in June 2017, and the vehicle has so far taken him through around 50 countries. How about the first time you went to a supermarket in your new country overseas only to discover a favourite food item had a price tag that nearly knocked you off your feet? Or you visited accommodation while apartment hunting that was expensive yet missing what you consider to be basic features? More children hospitalised for seasonal flu

The Vietnam National Hospital of Paediatrics in Hanoi has seen a sharp rise of children who suffer from flu since the middle of November. According to the hospital’s Centre for Paediatric Tropical Diseases, the centre receives around 100-130 patients diagnosed with flu per week. More children hospitalised for seasonal flu The patients mostly contract the three strains of the A (H1N1, A/H3N2) or Influenza B flu virus, including many being just some months old. Anh Duong, four months old, from the northern province of Bac Ninh was taken to the hospital for two-day high fever and breathing difficulty. He was then tested positive to A/H1N1 influenza. Dr. Nguyen Van Lam, head of the centre, said that seasonal influenza is characterised by a sudden onset of fever, cough, headache, muscle and joint pain, severe malaise, sore throat and a runny nose.
