Five digital inventions have been selected to the final round of the Vietnamese Talent Awards 2018 in Information and Technology. This is the first year the Promising Digital Products category has been introduced in the Information and Technology in addition to the Applied Products for Mobile Devices and Start-up IT Products sections. 23 digital products have been sent to compete in this new category which are built to facilitate Industry 4.0. Five outstanding products have been selected to the final round which will be held later this month. Public Administration solution VNPOST-PA (by Vietnam Post Corporation) This product aims at simplifying the public administration work using IT apps through postal services. The media, especially digital, ignores copyright laws resulting in rampant plagiarism and demoralising journalists, a workshop held by the Vietnam Journalists Association heard in Ho Chi Minh City on January 28. Vietnam’s media tablet sales jump 34% in Jan-May: GfK
Media tablets, which have gained immense popularity around the globe in recent years, have deepened their penetration into Vietnam with a double-digit jump in sales volume in the first five months of this year, German market research firm GfK said Monday. Nearly 582,000 media tablets, or devices that are based on a touchscreen display of at least five inches with an on-screen keyboard, were sold in Vietnam between January and May, up 34 percent from the same time frame a year ago, according to GfK. The German firm attributed the deeper penetration of the popular gadget to the introduction of more entry-level models in Vietnam, which it calls an emerging market for media tablets. While these less expensive models offer more affordable options to local consumers, they resulted in a five percent decline in sales value due to the cheap prices, according to GfK.
