Of this, its export value stood at 505 million USD, mean a trade surplus of 48 million USD to the country. Laos’ key exports included cassava (85 million USD), mixed gold and gold bars (46 million USD), copper ores (35 million USD), and paper and related products (28 million USD). The country’s main imports consisted of diesel (83 million USD), mechanical equipment (31 million USD), vehicles (27 million USD), and steel and steel products (18 million USD). 10 fishing boats remove monitoring systems off Ca Mau
Authorities in Ca Mau Province are investigating a case in which 10 fishing boats removed their vessel monitoring systems (VMS) while at sea. The boat carrying 10 sets of vessel monitoring systems in Ca Mau Province The Ca Mau Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development has asked owners of the 10 boats including seven from Ca Mau Province and three from neighbouring Kien Giang Province to recall their boats within 10 days for an investigation into the removal of their VMS while fishing at sea. "Local naval and military forces have also been asked to look for the boats and ensure they return to shore," the ministry said, adding that fishing boats with lengths of 15 metres or more operating without VMS was a serious violation. Petrol prices fall in latest adjustment
The retail price of petrol sharply decreased as of 3pm on Tuesday following the fall in global markets. Following the latest adjustment by the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Finance, the price of biofuel E5 RON92 fell by VND 780 to VND22,020 per litre at the highest, and that of RON95-III was also down by VND 780 to VND 23,030 per litre. The prices of diesel 0.05S and kerosene were VND 19,300 per litre and VND 19,460 per litre, down VND1,200 and VND1,250 per litre, respectively.
