The country’s largest grape producing province has more than 1,000ha under the fruit and an annual output of 26,000-28,000 tonnes, according to its Department of Agriculture and Rural Development. It grows mostly two table varieties, Red Cardinal and NH 01-48, and the wine grape Syrah. 1 dead, 2 hospitalized in northern Vietnam after sleeping in car with AC on
A 20-year-old girl was found dead, while her father and younger brother were hospitalized after sleeping in the family car with the air conditioner switched on during a blackout in Hai Phong City, northern Vietnam on Thursday evening. The fatal incident took place in Truong Son Town, An Lao District, a local official told Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper on Friday. When the power supply was restored in the area, a family member came to wake up the trio and found them lying unconscious in an old Toyota Camry, which was manufactured over 30 years ago. They were rushed to Kien An General Hospital where the daughter, Pham Minh H., was confirmed dead, while the father, Pham Van T., 49, and the son, Pham Ngoc K., 15, slipped into a coma. The exchange rate in the interbank market has been stable in May, hovering in a tight range around the State Bank of Vietnam's (SBV) reference dollar buying price. In the global market, the greenback is forecast to continue to weaken. Accordingly, the US Federal Reserve raised the base rate by a quarter of a percentage point in the early May meeting, but many forecasts believe that this might be the last base rate hike before it trends sideways, and that it is likely that the Fed will start cutting the rate in the second half of this year. Accordingly, the SBV reduced the diverse regulatory rate by 0.5 per cent from May 25. Vietnam aims to increase the proportion of renewable electricity production, including hydropower, to 30-39 per cent of total commercial electricity. According to a number of analysts, the research model by the Vietnam Initiative for Energy Transition (VIET) for forecasting energy storage demand and electricity pricing, which was announced on the afternoon of May 31, has wide applicability. One dead, two critical after sleeping in car
A woman has died while her father and younger brother fell into a coma after they slept in the family's car on Thursday evening. The accident occurred in the northern city of Hai Phong's An Lao District on the evening of June 1 when Pham Minh Hang, 20, her younger brother Pham Ngoc Khanh, 15, and their father Pham Van Thuy, 49, came to sleep in a car in their garage after the power was cut in the area. As it was a very hot night, they decided to seek cool air sleeping in their car. Her mother, Le Thi Ly came to the car to call them as power returned at 3.15 am on June 2 to find all of them in a coma. The three were rushed to the Kien An District General Hospital but Hang was dead already. Her brother and father have improved.
