With an annual catch of about 120,000 tons of seafood, Bac Lieu identifies fisheries as a key sector. Given this, it has been ramping up the fight against IUU fishing and obtained many encouraging results. Notably, it hasn’t recorded any fishing vessels infringing foreign waters since 2022. To achieve such results, the province has engaged the entire political system in taking measures against IUU fishing to help remove the European Commission (E.C.)’s “yellow card” warning. Over 103,000 TB cases detected in Vietnam last year

These figures were disclosed at a workshop held in a hybrid format in Hanoi on March 24 to mark the World TB Day , with an aim to raise public awareness of the serious impacts of tuberculosis on public health and socio-economic development , and boost efforts to put an end to the disease. Deputy Minister of Health Tran Van Thuan said that although Vietnam has gained a lot of achievements in TB prevention and control, it is among countries with a high TB burden, with 169,000 detected cases and 12,000 deaths in 2021.
