Vietnam to solidify macro-economic stability: PM
Vietnam’s economy has performed well amid a difficult global environment in the first six months of the year. The Vietnamese Government would stay focused on stabilizing macro-economic conditions, containing inflation, and keeping all major balances intact. Overview of the meeting. Chinh highlighted the GDP growth of 7.72% in the second quarter, the highest second-quarter growth since 2011, and the six-month GDP growth of 6.42%. Cultural, art activities mark Vietnam-Cambodia diplomatic ties
Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ta Quang Dong has signed Decision No.1520/QD-BVHTTDL approving a project on the organization of the activities. Accordingly, a Vietnamese Culture Week will take place from August 9-14 in the Cambodian cities of Phnom Penh and Siem Reap featuring the culture, land, people, tourism and education of Vietnam. The employees are to make up for those that have already submitted their resignation and to serve the company’s plan to expand 20 of its branches in various cities and provinces. Yet the company has had trouble recruiting new employees unwilling to work on assembly lines and deal with the pressure of meeting product quality and quantity. Nguyen Huu Tuan, the firm’s human resource manager, said the textile-garment sector is no longer attractive to laborers. He said "a significant number" of staff at the company has either quit or is about to, without revealing the specific figure. In most cases, those employees switch to work in other industries that can guarantee them higher salaries or move back to their hometown now that the living cost in the city has grown increasingly expensive. Three people drown at Tri An reservoir
Three people have drowned at Tri An hydropower reservoir in the southern province of Dong Nai. According to the initial information, the three aged between 10 and 18 came to the reservoir to swim on Sunday afternoon. One of the victims found The local rescue force reached the scene after being informed and by 5:30 pm on the same day had found the bodies of all three in the reservoir. The victims are a 17-year-old woman, an 18-year-old man and a 10-year-old boy. The cause of the deaths is still under investigation. Tri An covers 323 square kilometres, stretching across the districts of Vinh Cuu, Trang Bom and Tan Phu. HCM City to issue traceability codes for products
