One more molnupiravir-based drug authorised for use in treating COVID-19
There are now four Molnupiravir-based drugs produced in Việt Nam approved for domestic use. Photo suckhoedoisong.vn HÀ NỘI — Molnupiravir Stella 200mg, a drug from Stellapharm J.V.Co. Ltd., has been authorised by the Drug Administration of Việt Nam (DAV) for the domestic treatment of COVID-19. This is the fourth Molnupiravir-based drug produced in Việt Nam to be authorised for use in the country. The DAV orders manufacturers to adhere to documents registered with the Ministry of Health; coordinate with treatment facilities to strictly comply with current regulations on prescription drugs, monitor the safety, effectiveness, and unwanted effects of drugs on Vietnamese people, as well as compile reports according to regulations. Photo exhibition highlights military troops’ response to environment protection
The event was launched in celebration of the 132nd birth anniversary of late President Ho Chi Minh (May 19, 1989 - 2022) and the World Environment Day (June 5). One hundred and twenty outstanding photos were selected from 5,000 entries of professional and amateur photographers in the whole military for the exhibition. The organizing panel handed over one special, three first, ten second, 20 third, 31 consolation and 40 potential prizes to outstanding photos. Outstanding photos include “Chemical troops make great efforts for green environment to develop sustainably” by Vuong Minh Hung from the Chemical Corps, or “For a green Vietnam” by Ngo Viet Trung from the People’s Army Newspaper. Vietnam ramps up surveillance amid monkeypox outbreak in 12 countries
A representative of the General Department of Preventive Medicine under the Ministry of Health was quoted on the government news portal as saying monkeypox was usually zoonotic, but human-to-human transmission was possible through contact with wounds, bodily fluids and contaminated objects. To detect possible cases of monkeypox and promptly roll out response plans, the health ministry has asked local health departments to detect possible cases at the border, especially among those coming from countries where monkeypox is present: Benin, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Gabon, Ghana, Côte d'Ivoire, Liberia, Nigeria, Republic of the Congo, Sierra Leone and South Sudan. Medical facilities should also increase surveillance and if possible cases of monkeypox are detected, they must be reported to health departments for follow up action. Vietnam attends education forum in U.K.
