Of nearly 900,000 Vietnamese employees working in the manufacturing sector, only 40,500 (4.5%) have bachelor or post-graduate degrees, according to a national survey done by the Ministry of Education and Training. The survey also revealed that technicians and people with three-year college diplomas also make up only 4.5% of the workforce. The number of trained workers was found to be 279,000 (32%) with unskilled laborers representing the last 540,000 (60%). Another survey done by the ministry shows that the number of students enrolled in four-year economics or management programs is 30% while engineering students make up only 15%. The percentage of students enrolled in 3 year programs at teacher's colleges or technical institutes are 40 and 17% respectively. Education Ministry announces nuclear human resource training plan
To meet this demand, the Ministry of Education and Training has released a draft scheme on human resource training for the nuclear technology industry.
