Participants at the talks (Photo: VNA) Seoul (VNA) – Economic cooperation should continue to be the focus of bilateral ties between Vietnam and the Republic of Korea, National Assembly (NA) Vice Chairman Nguyen Duc Hai said at his talks with Deputy Assembly Speaker of the RoK Chung Woo-taik in Seoul on March 20. Hai, who is making an official visit to the RoK, noted that the political trust between the two countries has been continuously strengthened, and they have maintained a regular exchange of delegations at all levels. Addressing the event, Nguyen Thanh Tinh said that digital transformation is a major policy of the Vietnamese Party and State in recent years. Reviewing the country’s socio-economic recovery and development achievements in 2022, the PM said the macro economy remained stable, major economic balances were ensured, and notably the domestic investment and business environment was improved significantly. During the post-COVID-19 period, the foreign investment disbursement went up 13.5% as compared with 2021, which reflected Vietnam’s attractiveness in the regional and global investment maps, he said. This is the first high-ranking delegation of Vietnam to pay an official visit to the RoK since the two countries elevated their ties to a comprehensive strategic partnership in December 2022. The trip aims to further intensify the countries' relations, political trust, and cooperation between the two parliaments in bilateral and multilateral aspects.
