Huynh Duc Hoa, chairman of the Da Lat People's Committee, said the festival would celebrate the diversity of the city's horticulture. "It's also a great opportunity for Da Lat to attract investors' interest." The packed, nine-day programme includes street parades, musical performances, workshops, a flower trade fair and exhibits. In the near future, the city is hoped to become a major flower export centre, Hoa said. Nearly VND10 billion (US$600,000) was spent by the city on the festival, which is expected to attract more than 60,000 visitors. Da Lat city offers wifi service The move aims to help meet Internet access needs of local residents and tourists, especially during the 2013 Da Lat Culture and Tourism Week from December 27-31. The first flower fair titled 'brilliant Da Lat's flowers' opened on the morning of December 20 on Nguyen Thai Hoc Street, Da Lat City, under the framework of culture week to celebrate the 115th anniversary of the city's establishment and development. The flower fair, the first of its kind in Da Lat city, provides favourable conditions for businesses, communes and districts to introduce and advertise Da Lat flowers.
