The annual Nguyên Tiêu Festival on the 15th of lunar January in Hội An has been recognised as a National Intangible Heritage by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. Vietnamese acrobats win silver medal at Int’l Circus Festival
PANO - The flying trapeze act performed by Hoang Anh and Thu Hiep from Ho Chi Minh Circus Troupe won the Silver medal at the Figueres International Circus, held in Spain from February 21st- 25th. 27 performances from 14 countries were presented at the Figueres Festival, including brilliant circus performances from the US, Russia, China and Spain. The Vietnamese acrobats’ flying trapeze won the third spot, after Russian horse performance and Chinese somersault. Ho Chi Minh City mull over leasing part of roadways, sidewalks
The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport is formulating a plan to lease part of the local roadways and sidewalks for activities other than traffic purposes. The transport department has requested relevant units to review and create a list of streets whose roadbeds and sidewalks are suitable for activities other than traffic. On November 15, 2022, this agency asked the municipal People’s Committee to consider replacing Decision No. 74/2008 on the management and use of roadbeds and sidewalks in the metropolis. The department is now making a draft plan that will be considered as a replacement of Decision No. 74/2008. The draft plan highlights that part of the roadways and sidewalks can be temporarily leased for activities such as merchandise sales, installation of public works and utilities, parking service, and cultural activities. Vietnam attends 26th Meeting of ASEAN Tourism Ministers in Indonesia
Participants in the event that is part of the ASEAN Tourism Forum (ATF) 2023 heard a report and gave comments on the results of the 57th meeting of the ASEAN National Tourism Organizations, considered the agenda of M-ATM+3 (ASEAN plus China, Japan, and the Republic of Korea); M-ATM-India and M-ATM-Russia; and attended consultations with international organizations. The meeting also reviewed and approved the Chairman's Statement and 26th meeting of M-ATM Minutes. Speaking at the event, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Doan Van Viet said that 2022 witnessed a rapid recovery of the regional tourism industry. Over 3,000 trees planted in Military Academy of Logistics
Addressing the event, Major General Nguyen Van Kien, Deputy Director of the academy, affirmed that in response to the tree-planting festival in tribute to Uncle Ho, troops of the academy always actively plant and take care of trees, thereby practically concretizing the Government’s program “For a green Vietnam” to plant one billion trees. Reportedly, in 2022 alone, the academy planted nearly 4,000 trees to protect the environment and beautify the barracks. During the event, Major General Nguyen Van Kien requested the whole school to educate its troops about the significance of the tree-plating movement while encouraging them to further plant and take care of trees.
