The People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City has just given the nod for an eco-tourist park in Cu Chi District, according to Ho Chi Minh City Research Institute of Development. The tourist site will cover an area of around 4,600 hectares in the Trung An, An Nhon Tay, Phu Hoa Dong, Tan Thanh Dong, Tan Thanh Tay, Hoa Phu and Binh My Wards and Phu My Hung, along the Sai Gon River. Dai Nam Tourist Park to be closed over ‘bully’ claims
Dai Nam Tourist Park in the southern province of Binh Duong announced that it will be closed from next week until December 31, 2014. Authorities denied that the closure is due to difficulties caused by local government. However, from November 4 to 9, the park will give free admission to visitors and free entry tickets into its beach and zoo areas. Besides, 100% and 50% discount will be offered for games, according to announcement on the park's website. Travellers' Notes (20-08-2005) Pottery museum and tourist park planned for Cham Island Hoi An authorities have given the go-ahead for a pottery museum and an ecotourism park and resort to be built on Cham Island. The HCM City-based Doan Anh Duong Ltd will construct the 44-ha museum of ancient artifacts, and the Cham Island Joint Stock Company will develop the 117ha tourism park, which will include a 70-room beach resort. Construction of both projects will begin later this year. Travellers Notes (30-11-2007) Annual food fest opens at Van Thanh Tourist Park The second Taste of the World food festival opens on Friday (November 30) and will run until Sunday at Van Thanh Tourist Park in HCM City's Binh Thanh District, featuring the cuisine of Viet Nam and other countries. Jointly held by the city tourism authority and Saigontourist Holdings Company, the annual festival will introduce attendees to 39 varieties of traditional liquor. The festival's main event is Taste of the World, which features foods from 29 international restaurants. Cultural activities from 17 countries include China, France, Russia, Malaysia, India, Australia and Italy. Visitors will also see and taste a long meat roll 36m long and 25mm in diametre at the food festival. The meat roll, made by the Cau Tre Export Goods JS Company, may set a new national record.
