PPC Chairman Pham Dinh Cu has approved to implement the scheme on developing domestic market in association with the campaign "Vietnamese give priority to Vietnamese goods" in Phu Yen province in the period of 2015-2020. The scheme is aimed to help consumers in the province be aware of manufacturing competence of Vietnamese enterprises; the quality of Vietnam products, goods and services; building up the consumer culture based on patriotism, the sense of self-reliance, national pride. Developping distribution system, building chain link model for production-distribution- consumption in order to create and develop the market, simultaneously creating favorable conditions to bring Vietnam essential commodities, goods with strong advantages to consumers’ hands in order to improve and stabilize market and improve people's lives. The Law on Consumer Protection is being built to replace the Ordinance on Consumer Interest Protection issued in 1999. The law serves as a legal foundation for protecting the legitimate interests of consumers. The draft law regulates issues related to the responsibility of businesses before, after and during their transactions with consumers and methods that can be used by consumers to protect their rights. To ensure the feasibility and efficiency of the law, during the drafting process, it has received public unanimity and support. However, some feel that the law only focuses on the protection of consumer interests without paying attention to the protection of business interests.
