CNN selects ten Vietnamese destinations in 2021

Cable news network CNN listed top 10 marvelous destinations in Vietnam in 2021. The list include Thu Bon River (section flowing through Hoi An Town, Quang Nam Province), Son Doong Cave (Quang Binh Province), Sa Pa (Lao Cai Province), Can Tho, Nha Trang (Khanh Hoa Province), Phu Quoc island (Kien Giang Province), Son Tra natural reserve site (Da Nang City), Hoi An (Quang Nam Province), Dong Van Karst Plateau (Ha Giang Province), and Cao Dai Temple (Tay Ninh Province). The winners were honored for beautiful landscapes and deeply cultural traditions for visitors to enjoy. In addition, COVID-19 prevention measures are strictly observed in these sites. Vietnam's pho bo (beef noodle soup) ranked second among the world's 20 best soups compiled by news channel CNN. CNN in 2018 included pho in a list of the 50 tastiest dishes on earth after polling its Facebook readers. Earlier, a 30-second video titled “Why not Vietnam” was broadcast on news broadcaster Cable News Network (CNN) starting from last October to advertise Vietnamese tourism worldwide. The video is set to be shown on CNN until mid-November in an effort to attract a greater number of tourists to the country following the second wave of the fight against the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). Charity acts warm the poor’s hearts in Hanoi in pandemic time

The Hanoitimes - Many benefactors are giving free meals, face masks and essential items to alleviate the hardships of the destitute in Hanoi city every day during Covid-19 pandemic time. Times of crisis can often bring out the best in people. The Covid-19 evolution remains unpredictable in Hanoi, thus deeds of many kindhearted Hanoians’ have been of great encouragement for the poor’ hearts in the capital city to overcome the pandemic time. The shining examples not only show kindness of Vietnamese people amid the pandemic, but also surprise a lot of foreigners in Vietnam and in the world. Donation of food and essential items Many benefactors are giving free meals, face masks and essential items to alleviate the hardships of the destitute people in Hanoi city every day during Covid-19 pandemic time. The Hanoi city government has urged shops that sell non-essential goods and provide services to temporarily shut down to prevent Covid-19 from spreading. Although people agreed with the authority move, it has also made life of the poor more difficult, leaving some with no means to earn a living from. Therefore, kindhearted Hanoians have provided food for free to the destitute who have been left with no livelihoods due to the nationwide business shutdown to prevent the pandemic, working under the motto “Take one if you are in hardship. Singapore is the world’s freest economy: Heritage Foundation

Singapore 's Marina Bay (Photo: CNN) Singapore (VNA) - Singapore's economy has been ranked the freest in the world this year in the Heritage Foundation 's 2021 Index of Economic Freedom, the second year in a row it topped the list. The city-state scored 89.7 points, with its overall score having increased by 0.3 points from 2020, primarily because of an improvement in points gained for government spending, the think-tank said on March 4. Singapore's score placed it far ahead of both the regional average for 40 countries in the Asia Pacific (60.2) and the world average (61.6). It was followed in the rankings by New Zealand, Australia, Switzerland and Ireland, in that order, with scores ranging from 83.9 (New Zealand) to 81.4 (Ireland). The US ranked 20th with a score of 74.8, and Germany was 29th with a score of 72.5. Thailand took the 42nd spot with a score of 69.7, and China was No. 107 with a score of 58.4. Hong Kong, which had topped the list for 25 of the last 26 years, was left out of this year's Index, as it has come under the direct control of Beijing, the Heritage Foundation said.
