All apartments across Vietnam must be undergone fire safety inspection by mid-November: PM
Vietnam's national police are requested to conduct fire prevention inspection in types of high-density housing that are prone to fire and explosion. Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has ordered a general inspection of fire safety in all apartments, tenement buildings, high-density rental houses, private buildings and offices throughout Vietnam by November 15. The move follows a tragic fire at a tenement building in an alley on Khuong Ha Street in Hanoi's Thanh Xuan District on September 12. Officials confirmed that 56 people were killed and 37 others injured. Ten of the victims were children. US firms see Vietnam’s great potential for semiconductor industry
Many American semiconductor firms have highly valued the huge potential for the semiconductor industry in Vietnam, expressing their hope of opening chip production facilities in the country. The leaders of these companies were speaking during a meeting with Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on Wednesday morning (Vietnam time). Ha, winner of the MasterChef show in 2012 and renowned for her journey as a blind chef, delighted audiences on Monday with her culinary skills and participated in a discussion on entrepreneurship opportunities and challenges for women at the Dong Rung Van Ho Cooperative in Buot Village in Chieng Yen Commune, Van Ho District of Son La. During the event, the Vietnamese American chef demonstrated her prowess by preparing grilled meat served with herbs and kimchi, with corn fried rice. These dishes featured Korean-inspired flavors, largely owing to Ha's husband, John Suh, who is of Korean-American descent. The star ingredient, pork belly, was provided by the locals of Buot Village. A conference for experts from Germany and Vietnam to analyze and discuss the potential of Vietnam’s just energy for local economic and labor growth took place in Hanoi on Wednesday. The “Just Energy Transition = Job Accelerator for Vietnam? German-Vietnamese perspectives on employment and skills needs,” hosted by the German Embassy in Hanoi on Wednesday, attracted nearly 200 delegates and 300 private attendees, according to press release issued by the embassy. “Just energy transition” typically refers to financing mechanisms that allow developed countries to fund clean energy initiatives in fossil fuel-dependent developing countries.
