The northern province of Ninh Binh has recommended the construction of an airport in the 2021-2030 period. Under the proposal signed by the provincial people’s committee Chairman Pham Quang Ngoc sent to the Ministry of Transport for consideration, the airport would be located in Kim Son or Yen Khanh District. According to Ngoc, Ninh Binh boasts many advantages for tourism development with Hoa Lu Ancient Capital and Trang An Landscape Complex which has been listed as the UNESCO World Heritage Site. Every year, the province is among those localities attracting the highest number of tourists. Last year, Ninh Binh welcomed more than 7.6 million visitors. Ngoc added that by 2025 Ninh Binh will try to lure 8-9 million tourists, pulling in the total revenues of VND8 trillion (USD347.82 million).
