The number of tourists to a UNESCO-recognised My Son Sanctuary in the central province of Quang Nam has been on the rise, nearly equal to prior to the Covid-19 pandemic. According to the management board of My Son world cultural heritage site, the site has seen a monthly rise in travellers this year. Between January and March 20, My Son attracted 80,000 tourists, some 1,200 people visited the site daily before the pandemic. Tourists in My Son Besides South Korea, Japan and Europe, My Son has lured more tourists from markets such as Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore and India. Visitors from India have sharply increased, accounting for 10 percent of the travellers to My Son. The development will be an important basis for the issuance of new regulations related to the visa policy, removing difficulties for the tourism industry, and creating conditions to attract more international visitors this year, according to most observers. The cooperation aims to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the diplomatic relationship between Vietnam and Australia. Floating styrofoam buoys in Ha Long bay collected
The campaign, taking place from March 24-26, mobilizes 20 vessels and 100 people who gather and bring the styrofoam buoys out of the area for treatment. The styrofoam buoys, which have different sizes, were left by the illegal fish farms that were forced to be removed from the site. They have seriously affected the movements of vessels and the environment around the popular tourist site. A large number of styrofoam buoys, along with other types of waste, have been cleared from the bay on May 24 and 25. Located in the northeast of Vietnam, the bay has attracted visitors from far and wide as it is home to over 1,600 limestone towers and islets covered in tropical trees. Most of the islands are uninhabited and unaffected by humans. Lan Ha Bay in the northern city of Haiphong is struggling with pollution, mostly caused by deteriorating styrofoam buoys. Pieces of styrofoam buoys have appeared on Lan Ha Bay since early this month in addition to rubbish that has also been discharged into the bay, worsening the pollution. Danang hospitality sector called on to open more toilets
Danang authorities are calling at least 50 hotels and restaurants in Son Tra District to offer free toilet facilities for tourists as part of an effort to boost hospitality in the central city. A hotel in Son Tra has offered free toilets for tourist This move is part of efforts to promote the city’s Comfort as Home campaign to provide free bathrooms for travellers. The campaign was launched in Danang’s Son Tra and Hai Chau districts in 2015. Ninh Thuan grape and wine festival 2023 to be held in June

Vietnam needs digital tourism map
Vietnam is in need of a national digital tourism map which features tourism resources, destinations, and service providers to support tourists as well as local tourism service providers. The proposal on the digital map has been made and attracted the attention of local enterprises, but it has yet to be rolled out. Nguyen Quoc Ky, chairman of Vietravel Holdings, a local travel firm, said the digital tourism map would meaningfully increase the competitiveness of Vietnam’s tourism sector and help sell more tours at higher prices. Thailand has well-connected tourism systems, including travel, lodging, and transport services. Thus, their tour prices are stable and reasonable.
