Under the theme “Green Future,” this painting competition is part of the celebration of the 10th year anniversary of signing the Comprehensive Partnership Agreement between Vietnam and Denmark, a major milestone, which elevated our bilateral relationship from traditional development cooperation to a full-fledged partnership encompassing political dialogue, green growth, energy, trade and investment and culture. The competition is open to all Vietnamese students, from both primary and secondary schools. The deadline for submission is November 30th 2023. Winners will be announced and awarded at a ceremony at the end of the school year 2023 – 2024 in Hanoi. Four Hanoi delicacies listed among Vietnamese typical dishes
The first typical delicacies in the list of 1,000 iconic Vietnamese dishes have been announced in an attempt to create an online map and online museum of Vietnamese cuisine. Hanoi has four dishes on the list of 121 Typical Delicacies of Vietnam including pho (noodle soup), bun oc (vermicelli soup with snail), com Vong (dishes made from young stick rice flakes) and bun thang (vermicelli noodle with assorted toppings). Bun thang is one among Hanoi delicacies honored. On September 29, the Vietnam Culinary Culture Association (VCCA) held a ceremony in Hanoi to award certificates to 121 typical culinary dishes selected in Phase 1 (2022) and announced Phase 2 (2023) of the project "Building and Developing Vietnamese Culinary Culture into a National Brand". Hanoi ceremony honors 121 typical Vietnamese dishes
The dishes included 47 from the North, 37 from the Central region and 37 from Southern localities. They encapsulate the cultural essence of localities and regions nationwide. The dishes were selected basing on their cultural values, history, and quality, as well as cooking, processing and preservation techniques, and economic values. VCCA President Nguyen Quoc Ky said the association has been actively implementing the project, which focuses on surveying, introducing, and collecting data on Vietnamese cuisine, as part of efforts to turn Vietnam into a global culinary destination, contributing to preserving and promoting the cultural values of the country. By the end of 2022, the project has collected the data of 421 dishes from 60 cities and provinces. Ky took the occasion to call for the engagement and assistance of businesses in the project. Vietnamese engineers’ performance praised by UNISFA’s Commander
The visit was in the framework of the “One day with U.N. peacekeepers” program held on the occasion of the International Day of Peace (September 21). At Highway Base, where Vietnam’s Engineering Company Rotation 2 is stationed, Major General Benjamin Olufemi Sawyerr met with Vietnamese peacekeepers in Abyei and gave positive evaluation about their task performance, especially impressive achievements obtained by Vietnamese engineers. UNISFA’s official said that Vietnamese engineering force has turned Highway into one of the most beautiful bases. He highly appreciated the Vietnamese force’s military-civilian activities which have contributed to enhancing local people’s living standards. According to Gen.
