(VOVworld) - All tourist ships operating in Ha Long Bay will be moved to Tuan Chau international port as the Bai Chay tourist port will cease operation from January 1, 2016, according to the Transport Department of northern Quang Ninh province. The province's transport department said 160 registered companies and individuals were operating more than 400 tourist ships at Tuan Chau Port. The transport department has to install a signpost system at the new port for tourists and local residents. Around 1,000 passengers were traveling aboard the ship. Port authorities said it was the first time that a giant vessel had berthed there. The port cost about VND 645 billion (US$40 million) to build. The ship, regarded as the most luxurious and modern cruise liner in Viet Nam, was launched by state-owned Vinashin Ocean Shipping Company last December.
