Vietnam is a very special country to the RoK and a key partner in the New South Policy that our government is pursuing. Therefore, I plan to implement many cultural exchanges with Vietnam and strengthen cooperation with ASEAN to enhance cultural relations between the two countries. For last year’s cultural events such as a Korean Night, the National Foundation Day, and the RoK-Vietnam Film Festival, we invited some classic and traditional art troupes and famous RoK actors to Vietnam. Tourists from the Republic of Korea visit Vietnam (Photo VNA) Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam welcomes the Republic of Korea (RoK)’s adoption of new visa regulations for Vietnamese citizens, which will help promote the people-to-people exchange between the two countries, spokesperson for the Vietnam Ministry of Foreign Affairs Le Thi Thu Hang has said. Kim Do-hyon, ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Vietnam, said Monday afternoon that the C-3 visas will be granted to permanent residents of the three Vietnam's biggest cities Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang without any occupational priority from December 3 onwards. C-3 visa holders can stay in South Korea for up to 30 days, with no restrictions on number of visits for five years. Kim said the new policy reciprocated the affection Vietnamese football fans have lavished on the South Korean coach of the national men’s football team. "The Vietnamese show affection towards Mr. Park, Korean government reciprocates that love of the Vietnamese people," he said. The South Korean ambassador to Việt Nam Kim Do-hyun announced the new visa programme to the media on Monday, adding that it was “a milestone” in Korea’s visa policy for residents of the three major cities of Việt Nam. “Apply for a Korean visa once, pay US$80 and wait for no longer than one week, then residents will not need to apply for a Korean visa for the next five years,” he said, adding that visa holders could visit South Korea at any time and stay for a month.
