The Hanoitimes - Many activities have been held across the country to mark the 60th anniversary of Vietnam Volunteer Youth Force Day (July 15, 1950) * The Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, in co-ordination with Quang Binh Provincial Volunteer Youth Association, held a ceremony to mark the anniversary and receive the Hero of the People's Armed Forces title for seven martyrs from Company 759 who laid down their lives at Cha Quang Hill on July 3, 1966. The Volunteer Youth Force of Quang Binh province was set up with 6,500 young people who were divided into several units including N73, N75, N16 and C7. Nawaplastic still hungry for Binh Minh Plastic shares Owning a dominant stake in Binh Minh Plastic (BMP) did not quench Nawaplastic Industry Co., Ltd. (Nawaplastic)’s thirst for BMP shares. Most recently, Nawaplastic registered to buy an additional 1.17 million BMP shares to increase its holding to 44.525 million shares, equalling 54.39 per cent of the charter capital. The transaction is expected to occur between June18 and July16. The registered share volume is the remaining part of the 2.86 million shares that Nawaplastic failed to buy during previous transactions. Notably, Nawaplastic registered to buy 2.86 million BMP shares during transactions on May 14-June 12, however, the Thai investor ended up buying 1.69 million of the registered shares as BMP did not match Nawaplastic’s target price. 6th int'l photo exhibition ends in Hanoi Ha Van Dong of Vietnam and Mikkhail Bondar of Ukraine won gold medals at the 6th international photo exhibition 2011 in Vietnam for their photographs 'The Trio' and 'Raising Planet-10'. The photo exhibition cum 'VN-11' contest began in June, receiving 10,612 entries from 1602 photographers from 54 countries around the world. Among the various subjects for the contest, the topic "Vietnam- images through international eyes" was meant exclusively for foreigners who visited the country for travel or work purposes and took pictures of the landscape and the Vietnamese people. The organizers also awarded 40 prizes to artists from Vietnam, the UK, Germany, Hungary, Myanmar, Turkey, Slovenia, France, the US, Australia, Austria, Spain and Finland.
