The sons of Hanoi held their heads high and persevered in the cause of national liberation in the face of brutality and harassment. A VAMA representative said that the domestic car sales market is in a gloomy situation, and has been struggling like many other industries since 2020. “In order to stimulate market demand, we need strong enough policies like extending the payment of excise tax in 2023 and taking 50 per cent off the registration fee. A poor couple in the central province of Nghe An is calling for community support to save their 18-year-old son who is on the verge of death. Ho Huu Khoa, 46, and his wife Le Thi Tien, 41, from Quynh Thanh Commune in Quynh Luu District, are taking care of their eldest child Ho Huy Cuong who had a recent stroke. Due to the family’s financial difficulties, Khoa had to work in construction after school to support his parents. Cuong is in dire need of support On March 11, Cuong suffered a headache and his mother bought some medicines for him. However, after taking the medicine, his pain did not ease. On the same day, he struggled with convulsions and was sent to Nghe An General Hospital. Because of his critical condition, he was taken to Bach Mai Hospital in Hanoi. Cuong was diagnosed with cerebral haemorrhage which needs surgery. But his parents couldn't afford the hospital fees, so he was taken back home for self-treatment. An elderly man in Ho Chi Minh City has tirelessly made gratis school uniforms for disadvantaged children in different areas in Vietnam for around twenty years out of love for them. Nguyen Ngoc Giao, a war veteran, has been seen working by his half-a-century-old treadle sewing machine from 8:00 am to 11:00 am, and between a noon rest and 3:00 pm almost every day at his house in the metropolis’ Tan Binh District. Giao has maintained the habit for quite a long time, giving a large number of uniforms to poor students. All started in 1998, when Giao decided to help financially underprivileged children at a class run by his friend in the city’s suburban district of Hoc Mon after seeing them wear ragged clothes.
