(Photo: VNA) Hanoi (VNS/VNA) - Two-way trade between Vietnam and India saw a yearly increase of 13.6% to 15.05 billion USD in 2022, statistics from the General Department of Customs showed. During the year, Vietnam’s exports to India topped 7.96 billion USD, up 26.8% year-on-year. Among its export items, mobile phones and accessories posted the highest turnover with 1.52 billion USD, up 18.4%, making up nearly 20% of the total export value. Computers, electronics and parts came next with 1.03 billion USD, up 25%, or 13%, while machinery and equipment ranked third with 804 million USD or over 10%. Miss Universe Vietnam H’Hen Nie to become coffee festival ambassador
Miss Universe Vietnam 2017, H'Hen Nie, will be the Communication Ambassador for the 8th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival which will be held in the Central Highlands Province of Dak Lak from March 10 -14. Miss Universe Vietnam 2017, H'Hen Nie, besides a coffee tree. This year's festival is expected to be held on a larger scale compared to previous events and aims to promote Buon Ma Thuot coffee, develop Vietnamese speciality coffee, and honour domestic coffee growers and businesses, the organiser said. Ministries, agencies and units concerned were assigned to perform tasks in the event organizing plan issued by the Minister of Home Affairs. The Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA) was asked to work with the Government Office and the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (HCYU) to publicize the plan and conclusions of the event on the portals of the government, MoHA and HCYU Central Committee. According to Decree No.13/2021/ND-CP, the PM and chairpersons of the people's committees at all levels are responsible for holding dialogues with young people at least once a year. Thailand’s 2022 rice exports beat target

(Photo: Reuters) Bangkok (VNA) – Thailand exported 7.69 million tonnes of rice in 2022, up 22.1% from a year earlier, the country’s Commerce Ministry said on January 31. The exports exceeded a target of 7.5 million tonnes, with top markets being Iraq, South Africa, China, and the US, it said in a statement. Thai rice exports were strong last year because of the weak baht, according to Ronnarong Phoolpipat, head of the ministry’s Trade Policy and Strategy Office. Earlier this month, the Thai Rice Exporters Association lowered its target for 2023 from 8 million tonnes to 7.5 million as the baht, which is which is now trading around 32.50 to the US dollar, has appreciated dramatically after reaching a low of 38 last October. Indonesia plans record-high coal exports
Jakarta (VNA) - Indonesia plans to produce 695 million tonnes and export 518 million tonnes of coal this year, said Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Arifin Tasrif . The figures are higher than the country’s 2022 coal production of 687 million tonnes and export of 494 million, he said. The production last year was higher than the target of 663 million tonnes despite an export ban at the beginning of the year and heavy rain flow that disrupted activities. The official expected that coal prices will remain up in 2023 after last year’s record prices. According to shipping data from consultancy Kpler, the country’s exports to India, the Republic of Korea, Taiwan (China) and the Philippines all rose in 2022.
