(Photo: VNA) Singapore (VNA) – Vietnamese Ambassador to Singapore Mai Phuoc Dung has highlighted the significance of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh’s coming official visit to the city state, the first among many events to be held in both countries to mark the 50th anniversary of their diplomatic ties and 10 years of the strategic partnership. PM Chinh, his spouse, and a high-ranking delegation of Vietnam are paying an official visit to Singapore from February 8 to 10. During their meeting, FM Son and Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Prak Sokhonn were pleased with the fruitful developments of the bilateral relationship in recent times, and agreed to continue promoting the exchange of high-level visits via all channels, enhancing people-to-people exchange; maintaining and optimizing the effectiveness of existing bilateral cooperation mechanisms; fostering economic connections; strengthening cooperation between localities, especially those that share borders; and exerting effort to speed up tourism recovery. At a conference in Nha Trang city, Khanh Hoa province, on February 4, Hoan pointed out that the region boasts substantial potential and strengths in agricultural development, particularly in aquaculture and bird nest farming, noting the combination would bring about higher values for both sectors. He asked the region to rearrange some production areas and create connectivity between cooperatives, stressing that changes in the mindset must be done first. According to Nguyen Van Viet, Director of the ministry’s Planning Department, the region is facing such issues as climate change and natural disasters which are developing complicatedly.
