SEOUL — K-pop superstars BTS will take a 'long-term break' from the music scene, their agency said on Monday, after the boy band topped charts in the US and Britain earlier this year. But the pause may only last a few weeks, with the septet due to play a controversial show in Saudi Arabia in October. The K-pop industry is known for cutthroat competition and around-the-clock work hours that include concerts, press events and gruelling singing and dancing training when the stars are offstage. BTS will take their "first official long-term break since their debut" six years ago, managers Big Hit Entertainment said, adding it will be a time to "recharge and refresh as musicians and creators". It would also be a time for them to "enjoy their daily lives as normal 20-something young men", the agency said in a midnight statement. "If you run into BTS at an unexpected place, we ask for the fans' consideration to allow the members to enjoy their private time." Cristiano Ronaldo converted a penalty to seal a hard-fought 2-1 win for Juventus against Lazio in Rome on Sunday (Jan 27) to pull 11 points clear in Serie A. Atalanta's Colombian forward Duvan Zapata (right) scored a minute after missing a penalty against Roma. (AFP/Marco BERTORELLO) Juventus had trailed after an Emre Can own-goal after an hour before substitute Joao Cancelo pulled the champions level and then earned the penalty which Ronaldo slotted in with two minutes to go. Inter Milan are 19 points behind the leaders after losing 1-0 at Torino earlier on Sunday. Lazio drop to eighth place - three points off the Champions League spots - after their second defeat in a row after losing to Napoli by the same score last weekend. Illustration by Trịnh LậpViet Nam News By Ollie Arci Nearly three years ago, I voted for Britain to remain in the European Union. Since then I’ve watched from the other side of the world as my country implodes. We are now hurtling towards the infamous March deadline, at which point the United Kingdom leaves the bloc, with or without a deal in place. There are currently no reasonable solutions in sight that would result in the soft, hard, scrambled or Norwegian-style omelette varying factions are campaigning for. The British Isles, it seems, are coming apart at the seams. In a fit of delusion, drunk on the promise of an unobtainable fantasy peddled by political elites hungry for their next career move, Britain, once the envy of the world, has turned its back on everyone else. Or more accurately, just over half of Britain decided to cut its moorings to the rest of the continent. By all expert accounts (even though we’ve apparently had enough of them), the … [Read more...] about Watching Brexit break Britain from afar
But at this point it is still not clear if his iconic character Walter White would return as well. The series, which ran from 2008 until 2013, told the story of White, a high school science teacher who responds to a terminal cancer diagnosis by turning into a powerful drug lord. It is one of the best-reviewed shows in TV history and earned a total of 16 Emmys, including four best actor prizes for Cranston, and two Golden Globes. "There appears to be a movie version of 'Breaking Bad' but I honestly have not even read the script," Cranston, 62, said on The Dan Patrick Show, a national radio program. "So there's question whether or not we would even see Walter White in this movie." Spoiler alert: White died at the end of the series, which aired in the United States on cable network AMC. But Cranston nevertheless said he would "absolutely" be interested in bringing White back should show creator Vince Gilligan ask him to do so. "He's a genius," Cranston said. "I'm excited about it because … [Read more...] about ‘Breaking Bad’ film coming, but will Walter White be in it?
