PM Phuc arrives in Bangkok for 35th ASEAN Summit

Welcoming guests at the airport included Thai Minister of Culture Ittiphol Kunplome, Thai Foreign Ministry representatives, Vietnamese Ambassador to Thailand Nguyen Hai Bang and his wife along with embassy staff. As scheduled on November 2, PM Phuc will attend the plenary meeting of the 35th ASEAN Summit  under the theme of "Advancing partnership for sustainability", and join other ASEAN leaders in holding discussions for directions and measures aimed at building a sustainable ASEAN community for the people. On the same day, the Vietnamese government leader is set to have bilateral meetings and attend a number of events regarding business cooperation and investment of Vietnamese enterprises in Thailand. Master plan to develop Tan Trao national tourism site unveiled

The February 24 event saw the presence of Politburo member Tran Quoc Vuong, permanent member of the Secretariat of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee (CPVCC) and head of the CPVCC’s Inspection Commission. According to the plan, the site will cover five communes in Son Duong district and one in Yen Son district with a core area of 2,500 hectares. Investment will be mobilised from all possible resources, including the State budget, tourism development support fund, organisations, businesses and other economic sectors to develop tourism infrastructure, restaurants, hotels and homestay services, especially in Tan Trao, Minh Thanh, Trung Yen communes of Son Duong district. The site is expected to welcome 1.5 million visitors, including 2,000 foreigners, by 2025, and 2 million holidaymakers, including 35,000 international tourists, by 2030. Vietnam aspires to deepen ties with Australia

PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc meets with President of the Senate Scott Ryan (R) and Speaker of the House of Representatives Tony Smith of Australia (L). At the meeting, President of the Senate Scott Ryan and Speaker of the House of Representatives Tony Smith highlighted the official visit to Australia by PM Phuc, his wife and delegation as an important landmark in 2018 when both nations are celebrating the 45th anniversary of their diplomatic ties. They hailed the outcomes of the talks between the two PMs, especially the signing of a Joint Statement on the establishment of the Vietnam-Australia Strategic Partnership and other important cooperation agreements on education-training, science-technology and agriculture, saying these helped to make breakthrough in bilateral ties and step up broader cooperation in specific areas. VFF leader pays incense tribute to late President Ho Chi Minh

His visit to the relic site is on the occasion of the traditional lunar New Year 2018. The VFF President said that the Fatherland Front at all levels pledges to follow Ho Chi Minh’s moral example. The Front has carried out the Party resolution on Party building and issued the action program on anti-corruption and has also realized the Politburo Directive No5 on studying Ho Chi Minh’s thoughts, morality, and lifestyle, contributing to national development, ensuring national sovereignty, and improving people’s lives.
