(Photo: VNA) Hanoi (VNA) - E-commerce is widely considered an effective and sustainable solution to help cooperatives improve their competitiveness, and boost production and exports, but the number of cooperatives that have gone online remains modest, prompting the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance (VCA) to support them in this regard. According to Nguyen Ngoc Bao, VCA president, the application of e-commerce plays an important role in the success of cooperatives, creating competitiveness in the market economy . A quarter of phishing attempts in Vietnam last April are financial-related
During this month, payment systems were the most common phishing cases detected by Kaspersky, representing 11.77 percent of all phishing and over 44 percent of financial phishing. The increase in online transactions in Vietnam during the pandemic has facilitated the proliferation of phishing with pages impersonating popular payment systems such as Visa, Mastercard, PayPal, and more. The percentages are from anonymised data based on the triggering of the deterministic component in the Kaspersky’s Anti-Phishing system on user computers. The component detects all pages with phishing content that the user has tried to open by following a link in an e-mail message or on the web, as long as links to these pages are present in the Kaspersky database. However, non-cash payments , encouraged during the pandemic to limit contact, have become popular among many people. The pandemic accelerated this payment form towards a cashless society as oriented by the Government and the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV). According to a survey recently conducted by digital payment giant VISA, 65% of Vietnamese are carrying less cash in their wallets and one-third say they will stop using cash after the pandemic.
