Digital technology to spearhead Vietnam’s drive for Industry 4.0
By 2025, the Ministry of Information and Communications expected Vietnam to have 80,000 digital tech firms, meeting at least 50% of digital tech and services from state agencies. Vietnamese woman hospitalized after swallowing toothpick
Doctors at a hospital in Quang Ninh Province, northern Vietnam have successfully removed a sharp bamboo toothpick from the duodenum of a female patient. The patient, 56-year-old N.T.H., had suffered stomach pain since January 21 but she did not see a doctor because it was the Lunar New Year (Tet) holiday. As the pain escalated, H. was taken to a local medical center where she was diagnosed with foreign bodies in the digestive tract, and was later transferred to Quang Ninh General Hospital. Her CT scan result showed a sharp rod-shaped foreign body about three centimeters long in the second part of the duodenum. Doctors later performed a gastroscopy to remove the object. During the procedure, doctors discovered that the foreign body was a sharp bamboo toothpick, with one end piercing through the intestinal mucosa. Despite difficulties, doctors were able to remove the toothpick from the patient’s duodenum after nearly an hour. The jump indicates the expansion of the scope of influence of the university's online resources and website not only in Vietnam and the world's academic community but in society. Vietnam National University-Hanoi (VNU-Hanoi) ranked 661st in the latest Webometrics Ranking of World Universities in 2023, jumping 97 places from the previous list released in August 2022. With the new position, the VNU-Hanoi stood 137th in Asia and 11th in Southeast Asia, according to the rankings freshly issued by the Cybermetrics Lab, a member of the Spanish National Research Council. Construction work starts on Haiphong – Quang Ninh bridge
Authorities in the northern city of Haiphong today, February 2, started construction of the Lai Xuan Bridge crossing the Da Bach River that connects the city's Thuy Nguyen District with Dong Trieu Town in Quang Ninh Province. Construction of the Lai Xuan Bridge crossing the Da Bach River starts in Haiphong City on February 2 The 840-metre-long, 12-metre-wide bridge project will be carried out at the same time as the expansion of Provincial Road 352 to 12 metres in width and 14 kilometres in length. The two projects are estimated to cost over VND 1.32 trillion. The investment will be taken from the local government budgets with over VND1.32 trillion from Haiphong and over VND12 billion from Quang Ninh.
