The annual event, held by the Spouses of Delegates of Member States, aims to strengthen ties between member countries and raise funds to support the U.N.’s activities and humanitarian projects. This year's bazaar saw nearly 100 booths showcasing handicraft products and traditional cuisines of U.N. member countries. The Vietnamese mission brought ceramic, lacquer, brocade and silk products to the event, along with traditional dishes like spring rolls, banh ran vung (sesame donut), che dau xanh cot dua (sweet green bean soup with coconut milk), and iced milk coffee to the event. According to Dang Hoang Giang, head of the Permanent Delegation of Vietnam to the U.N., joining the event will help promote the good values of the country and people of Vietnam to the international community, especially the diplomatic missions in New York. Xoi Bat in Ho Chi Minh City was the only sticky rice eatery in Vietnam to be named amongst the 29 establishments to Michelin Guide’s Bib Gourmand list. Bib Gourmand recognizes restaurants and eateries which serve great food at moderate prices. A total of 103 restaurants and eateries in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, including Xoi Bat, were honored by Michelin Guide on Tuesday. By the end of June 8, when competitions of most sports had completed, Vietnam gained 66 gold, 56 silver, and 77 bronze medals. These results helped Vietnam secure the third position on the medal standings, following Indonesia (153 gold medals) and Thailand (123) and much outperforming the fourth-placed Malaysia (46). According to the UOB ASEAN Consumer Sentiment Study 2022, there has been a significant increase in the number of Vietnamese who are interested in finding out more about sustainable investing.
