The lists were compiled basing on votes from readers around the world from January to April this year. Among the three Vietnamese cities in the list, Da Nang comes third, Hanoi fifth, and HCMC eighth. Bangkok of Thailand holds the No. 1 position. Meanwhile, Phu Quoc and Con Dao of Vietnam are among the Best Islands in Southeast Asia, respectively standing at the fourth and 10th places. Phuket of Thailand tops this list. Vietnam to solidify macro-economic stability: PM
Vietnam’s economy has performed well amid a difficult global environment in the first six months of the year. The Vietnamese Government would stay focused on stabilizing macro-economic conditions, containing inflation, and keeping all major balances intact. Overview of the meeting. According to Chinh, Vietnam’s economy has performed well amid a difficult global environment in the first six months of the year. Chinh highlighted the GDP growth of 7.72% in the second quarter, the highest second-quarter growth since 2011, and the six-month GDP growth of 6.42%. Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ta Quang Dong has signed Decision No.1520/QD-BVHTTDL approving a project on the organization of the activities. Accordingly, a Vietnamese Culture Week will take place from August 9-14 in the Cambodian cities of Phnom Penh and Siem Reap featuring the culture, land, people, tourism and education of Vietnam. Swedish crown princess spends day in Ho Chi Minh City
Crown Princess of Sweden Victoria Ingrid Alice Desiree had a busy agenda in Ho Chi Minh City on Wednesday, as part of her three-day official visit to Vietnam. Crown Princess Victoria, her spouse, and a delegation of high-ranking Swedish officials arrived in the southern Vietnamese metropolis that morning to begin the last day of her Vietnam visit, which ran from May 6 to 8. The crown princess spent more than an hour touring the Saigon River, meant as an excursion to highlight issues relating to the city’s drainage system. GM Liem back on FIDE standard chess ranking
Vietnamese Grandmaster Le Quang Liem . (Photo:sggp.org.vn) Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnamese Grandmaster Le Quang Liem has been back on the International Chess Federation (FIDE) standard chess ranking after two-year absence as he had not competed in this category internationally since 2020. Liem ranked 23rd with an Elo rating of 2,722, according the latest FIDE ranking released last week. The ranking was topped by Norwegian Grandmaster Magnus Carlsen with 2,864. Two other Vietnamese grandmasters Nguyen Ngoc Truong Son and his spouse Pham Le Thao Nguyen were also named in the ranking. Son, a standard chess champion at SEA Games 31, was placed 111th with Elo of 2,645 while Nguyen was in the 2,583th position with 2,369. Last month, Liem claimed the second place at the standard chess category of an international chess tournament in Czech Republic’s Prague.
